Halloween in America

Arrrr! It be Halloween and I'm a Pirate Puppy!

Ah ha! Check out that Shi'tzu lass in her saucy devil costume!

Friday night dance party at San Jose dance sport was a costumed affair, so, in costume we went.

This'd be my Treasure Hunter/Indiana Jane look. Erich wore Stargate tactical gear.

Peoples costumes were wild and varied.

And the Biggest, Baddest wolf of them all...

Yikes!
We were going to head back closer to home to watch the street revellers but it was rainy, and there was an accident on the freeway on our way home, so we decided to call it a night.
All in all, I was surprised at how early I saw decorations come out on peoples houses (one house that I walk Alfie past most days had decorations at the end of October) I was surprised at how elaborate the decorations, costumes and buildup to Halloween is, and I was surprised that it is something that isn't just a "Kid thing". It was fun to go to a costume event though!

Biometrics

We received an appointment notice from Homeland Security, so today Erich and I went to the Immigration services office to have my Biometrics taken. Basically what they do is make you fill in yet ANOTHER form, (but you cant take your cell phone into the building, so you better remember your phone number, which I don't), and they take your fingerprints digitally (all of them, not just one or two like at border security) plus they take your photo. That fingerprint scanner is incredible. I was a bit worried because a couple of my finger tips are all dried and peeling (I think I need to wear gloves washing the dishes) and I can barely see my own fingerprints, but that scanner read them clear as a bell. Anyway, we're now back to the waiting game for the next step of the immigration stuff, which I think is an in-home interview of Erich and I. That may be up to 6 months away though. Things are processing though!

Frisbee Golf

Corey, Kendra and their dog Raven came over to Capitola to play Frisbee Golf with Erich, myself and Alfie at a Frisbee golf course nearby. Now, this isn't your average golf course. This is a hill with very steep gullys, lots of dust, and plenty of gopher holes. It was awesome.

The idea is simple. Throw Frisbee. Do not attempt to catch anyone's Frisbee (they're HARD) Keep out of the way of other peoples Frisbees (the fairways crisscross each other in some places). Don't loose your frisbee. When you get close enough, throw frisbee into net cage thing.

Great exercise, fun, and something we need to do more often!

Paperwork

All our paperwork came back from the Lawyers for immigration for our final checks and signatures and for us to send on to homeland security. We are SO glad that we decided to get lawyers for this, the amount of work they've put into it - the amount of work NEEDED is phenomenal.
Next step, wait to hear from the various departments.

Also, thanks Fiancee Visas for being so helpful and answering all our questions!
