Luckily both Erich and the bike are still functional, and with the aid of another motorcyclist and an escort by the CHP (anyone remember that old sitcom CHiPs? thats California Highway Patrol by the way) managed to ride home.

Erich vs. Road
You remember that raccoon I mentioned in my last blog post? Well apparently they're vengeful little beasties, (or just plain suicidal) and one of the cousins of the dearly deceased saw Erich coming. The car in front of Erich stopped to avoid hitting it, and Erichs choices were to crash into the back of him, ride into the fast lane (rush hour on the freeway.. not a good option) or attempt to stop. He attempted to stop, and ended up 20 feet away from his bike a good bit further up the road. Quite lucky it was an uphill slope actually so he didn't skid as far as he could have.
